What our Technical Product Owner does:

  • As a part of the Product team, enable Pagefreezer to achieve its mission, vision, and goals in a values-aligned way through supporting the delivery of the product roadmap.
    • Manage and prioritize a product backlog for multiple development teams.
    • Create cohesive plans for each sprint that balance features, bugs and other technical projects. Negotiate scope to ensure sprint plans match the velocity of the development team.
    • Defining product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for new features, enhancements and technical projects that provide new value to our customers and improve the product user experience.
    • Ensuring the acceptance criteria for stories is clearly communicated to engineering teams, splitting large, complex stories into manageable sized stories with the teams.
  • Act as a Product Owner in our Scrum agile process for multiple development teams. Leading sprint planning and participating in estimation and refinement meetings and in other Scrum ceremonies or activities where required.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand the technical needs of the platform. Create Sprint and Release plans that balance new product value with scalability, stability and security.
  • Act as a problem solver and distraction-umbrella for the development teams, ensuring timely product releases through decision-making and trade-offs.Work with the Senior Product Manager and other product team members to define the product roadmap for your product area.
  • Coordinate with Product Designers to ensure designs are delivered according to roadmap needs.
  • Work with customers, customer support and other stakeholders to identify and resolve product issues affecting users.
  • Train internal stakeholders on new product releases.
  • Collaborate with Technical Writers to ensure product releases are documented and communicated internally.

  • Hands-on experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
    • Bonus points for:
      • Scrum product ownership experience, ideally certified by a recognized Scrum authority
      • Experience working as the product owner for multiple development teams
  • A technical background that allows you to write requirements for a highly technical product and collaborate closely with engineers.
    • Bonus points for:
      • Experience working on integration/API based products
      • Writing requirements for implementing analytics software in web applications (Google Analytics, MixPanel, Segment, Heap, etc)
  • Delivered software products used by Enterprise and/or Government customers
  • Experience working on Product teams in a SaaS software company
  • A strong sense of initiative, ownership and accountability. Comfortable seeking answers and facilitating hard conversations.
  • Track record of solving customers’ problems with solutions that improve users work lives
  • An exceptional attention to detail, allowing you to write concise and accurate documentation
  • Trustworthiness, and the ability form meaningful working relationships
  • Authorized to work in 40 hours a week in Canada (anywhere in Canada works for us)

    • The annual base salary range for this role is $65000 - $95000 CAD. The total compensation offered for this position may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and location. It may also include non-cash rewards and benefits. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
